Elmo “Mo” Wilson Hyatt, age 77 of Flemingsburg, widower of Barbara Lee Hyatt, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at his home. Elmo was born on December 20, 1942 in Poplar Plains, a son of the late Otto Wilson and Evadna Selby Hyatt. A retired GM worker, Elmo and his late wife resided in Columbia, TN before permanently moving back to Flemingsburg. Elmo was a very loving and giving man who loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to fish, watch NASCAR, and was a devoted UK Wildcat basketball fan. Elmo was also a devout member of the UAW and also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Columbia, TN. He is survived by: a son, Ronald Wilson (Terri) Hyatt of Evergreen, CO; daughters, Stephanie (Charles) Mains of Atlanta, GA and Monica Stahl of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Wilson, and Samantha Hyatt, Ben and Gracie Mains, and Zachary and Kyle Howell; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Zachary Howell, Jr.; a sister, Phyllis (Pete) Peters of Flemingsburg; sister-in-law, Paula Hyatt of Flemingsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother and best friend, Jewett Hyatt. The funeral service will be private with burial to follow in Fleming County Cemetery. Public visitation will be 12pm – 2pm Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Hyatt, Zach Hyatt, Austin Hyatt, Peter Peters, Charles Mains, and Zachary Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrell Lincoln, Al Rogers, Bobby Ryder, and John Wilson Hyatt. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Dr., Maysville, KY 40506.
